EG Real Estate Advisors (“EGREA”) is an investment manager focused on commercial real estate investments primarily in Western and Central Europe.
The company forms and manages investment funds that are active in direct property investment (including ground-up development), public real estate companies and performing and distressed real estate debt. Due to its deep and extensive network of relationships, EGREA is able to identify and unlock complex, undervalued projects to deliver opportunistic returns for its investors.
EG Real Estate Fund (“EGREF”) I was formed in September 2015 and purchased a controlling interest in CA Immobilien Anlagen AG (“CA IMMO”), Austria's largest public property company, from an affiliate advised by EGREA that had initially acquired shares in CA IMMO in December 2014.
EGREF I sold its interest in CA IMMO August 2016 for €603 million, generating an IRR of 24% and a MoIC of 1.4x (dating back to December 2014).
EGREA is currently doing a first closing of approximately €100 million for EGREF II, which is focused on high yield real estate debt. Several investments on the balance sheet of the “anchor” limited partner investor will be transferred into the EGREF II upon closing.
EGREA also manages a separate account investment into what is acknowledged to be the best beachfront development site in Marbella, Spain. The property is being developed into a W hotel, residences and beach club.
EGREA was founded and is managed by John Nacos and Michael Stanton. Previously, John was the Global Head of Commercial Real Estate at Deutsche Bank, responsible for lending, CMBS and real estate special situations. Prior to EGREA, Michael was the Chief Investment Officer of O1 Properties, Moscow’s largest office landlord that owns more than $4 billion of class A buildings. John and Michael currently serve on the Supervisory Board of CA IMMO and its investment, HR, audit and presiding committees.
